As the saying goes.Fooled me once, shame on you. They put them out there after an initial product introduction and then let them wither from lack of attention. To make matters even worse, Google has developed a (well deserved) reputation of treating their apps as beta projects.

What is the compelling reason for me to switch back from Telegram to Google for my messaging? For that matter, I would have to convince my friends and associates to switch also - which makes the hurdle even higher.

They have already been in Telegram for months or years. All these things that Allo supposedly does should already be in Hangouts. Why is it that a company with the resources of Google can't create a decent messaging application. Why? Telegram has more features, it has a real client for just about every platform imaginable (Yes, including Linux Desktop which Google has simply decided to completely ignore), you signup with your phone number, you assign a nickname, you have unlimited storage for photos, documents, etc.), you can edit messages after they have been sent, they have bots, gifs, stickers, etc. I'm about as pro-Google as a person can be, but seriously? I left Hangouts a year ago for Telegram. I laughed when I read that 'for people who want to send messages on their desktop, they can continue to run Hangouts'. So the answer of course is to launch yet another messaging app - with fewer features that apparently only runs on mobile. I downloaded Google duos yesterday, it has changed by FaceTimeing life forever! My second cousin Khloe has a Samsung, and I have an iPhone! We couldn’t FaceTime, until she told me about Google duoS! I downloaded it not thinking of such high-quality, not thinking of so many features, not even thinking about seeing the other persons point of view!
